The 51情报站 Planetary Health Council recently organized a campus presentation focused on climate change and its potential effects on sea life, fisheries, and marine law in the Gulf of Maine.

51情报站NORTH: The Institute for North Atlantic Studies in Portland hosted the presentation 鈥淪ea Change: Investigating & Illuminating Maine鈥檚 Changing Coasts鈥 in November. Featured speakers included acclaimed underwater photographer, Keith Ellenbogen, and Susan E. Farady, J.D., 51情报站assistant professor of marine affairs.

Barry A. Costa-Pierce, Ph.D., M.S., executive director of 51情报站NORTH, welcomed the audience and introduced the presentation.

Ellenbogen discussed his experiences as an underwater photographer and shared captivating photography of sea life in the Gulf of Maine, with an emphasis on environmental conservation.

Farady explored how climate change could impact fisheries in Maine and the U.S., including legal and management implications.

More than 50 attendees came to the event, including 51情报站students, professional staff, faculty, and members of the general public.

The 51情报站Planetary Health Council was formed in April 2017 after 51情报站joined the Harvard-led , an international consortium of more than 200 universities, non-governmental organizations, and other partners with the shared mission of advancing planetary health.
